change the world 2Bristol based Renewal Community Gospel Choir is going to London to “Change the World”. The Choir has been presented with the unique opportunity to record a charity single “Change the World” to help raise funds and awareness for Christian Aid’s fight to eradicate the causes of poverty and injustice in the World. The single will be completed and made available for purchase at the prestigious Pentecost Festival event taking place at Methodist Central Hall in Westminster, London on Saturday 26th May. During the concert Renewal Choir will perform the song live to an expected audience of around 2000 people.

Kim Samuels, choir director says, “It’s such a privilege to have the opportunity to record and perform a great song for a great cause with a great message that is relevant to everyone. Changing the world can seem like a really daunting task but the message of the song brings that possibility home on a very personal level.” From modest beginnings in 2005 Renewal choir started up with just a handful of enthusiastic singers passionate about gospel music. Now the choir has grown into a dynamic 60-strong community of singers and band with a flare for excellence and soulful expression that touches the heart and lifts the spirits.

The song ‘Change the World’ has been written by Grammy-nominated songwriter Roger Russell and Wayne Hector and produced by Abandon Music Records. Proceeds from the single and concert will go to support the work of Christian Aid. The release of the charity single and Renewal Choir’s involvement in the London concert will take place alongside a special guest appearance by Jocelyn Brown (known by many across the world for her iconic vocal line “I got the power” sampled from her dance hit “Love's Gonna Get You”). MC for the night is broadcaster and singer song writer Muyiwa Olarewaju who will be introducing a host of the UK’s leading gospel music artists and speakers include worship leader Noel Robinson, the dynamic Ruach Choir and Loretta Minghella Director for Christian Aid.
