christian aid week 16

Countdown to Christian Aid Week

I hope you had a wonderful Easter with time to reflect and celebrate. We're now just a few short weeks away from Christian Aid Week - a fantastic 7 days of prayer and action to tackle world poverty. There's still time to get involved so please get in touch if you'd like to be linked up with your nearest group or participating church. You can always organise your own Big Brekkie in your home or work place - contact me for resources.

With every blessing,

In May, local Methodist minister John Beardsley will walk the Severn Way, a 225 mile route that follows the river from its source in Plynlimon, Wales to its end near Bristol.
You're invited to join John on 18 May, walking from Tewkesbury to Gloucester, as part of Christian Aid Week 2016. The 13.5 mile walk ends at Gloucester docks.
Donations will go towards the work of Christian Aid, supporting the world's poorest communities.

Seven days of prayer

christian aid week 16 4

Get everyone in your church involved in Christian Aid Week by asking them to pray. Give out our seven day devotional, a week-long meditation on the parable of the Good Samaritan. How can we be good neighbours to people like Morsheda, living in poverty and at the mercy of the river in Bangladesh? From prayer to action

Rising global temperatures are making the flooding in Bangladesh worse, rendering life harder for Morsheda and her neighbours. But we are not helpless. We can call on our leaders to take action to tackle climate change. Order prayer and action cards for everyone in your congregation, so that people can offer up their prayers and actions as well as their money when you take your collection during your Sunday service for Christian Aid Week.
