Wed 26 Jul - Elaine Storkey: Scars Across Humanity

Where: Chapter House in the Cloisters of Gloucester Cathedral, College Green, Gloucester GL1 2LX.
Price: Free (Voluntary offering)

In recent years, we have become increasingly aware of injustices such as modern-day slavery, institutional discrimination and ideological hate crimes; and Christians have begun to respond to these issues. Gender-based violence, though, remains unaddressed in many places – despite being a daily reality for thousands of people across many cultures. Elaine Storkey will lead a moving, challenging and inspiring evening looking at what gender-related violence is, where it comes from, and why we should be aware of it. This evening will look at what the Nelson Trust does locally to serve and support vulnerable women.

This event will be in the Chapter House in the Cloisters of Gloucester Cathedral, College Green, Gloucester GL1 2LX.
Admission is free, and the evening includes refreshments. However, there will be a voluntary offering for the work of Restored and the Nelson Trust, and there will be copies of Elaine’s book for sale, so do bring some money! Doors will open at 7:00pm and the event will run to 9:30pm.Please sign up as early as possible at scarsacrosshumanity.eventbrite.com
