Christian Unity - Fundamental to our Credibility

For me it all began when reading John's Gospel... John 17:20-23 (New International Version)

Jesus Prays for All Believers

"My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in Me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as You are in Me and I am in You. May they also be in Us so that the world may believe that You have sent Me. I have given them the glory that You gave Me, that they may be one as We are one: I in them and You in Me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that You sent Me and have loved them even as You have loved Me."

Working for unity among Christians is fundamental to our credibility. Our Christian unity is 'meant' to be a sign to the unbelievers that really God did send His Son. Conversely, our disunity or division gives the unbeliever living proof that we don't believe our own message...and therefore, why should they?

By invitation in 2003, our Christian Community (The Ark Community), has been working together with the Roman Catholic Church on the mission of Christian Unity. We represent the 'Protestant' tradition within the Catholic Church worldwide, not to proselyte but to share our diversity and gifts with those who are open to receive...and there are many...! Over 150 million Roman Catholics now openly acknowledge that they are Charismatic and have experienced the conversion experience of being 'born-again'. This has fanned the flame of ecumenism (Christian Unity), due to the fact that the same Holy Spirit is calling out from within all, ABBA Father. Jesus' prayer is being fulfilled in our times..!

The Joint Declaration

On 31st of October 1999 in Augsburg, Germany, the Roman Catholic Church and the Lutheran (Protestant) Church signed the "Joint declaration of the Justification by Faith". This joint acceptance of the biblical teaching that we are "Saved by Faith alone" brought an end to the 500 year-old Protest, that began the Protestant Church. So the Protest is over. This is a historical fact. Afterwards the worldwide Methodist Church also accepted this Joint Declaration.

The fact is that we are all now living in the Post-Protestant era. Like no other time in History does the world need to 'see' our unity now. Our words have not found good ground because we preach Christ from a divided pulpit. The more we stand together, the more they will believe what we Preach... Please stand with us...!
