Welcome to September's Headlines

This month we would love you to get involved. We need your support and we need your voice.
Find out how you can give evidence that can impact future equality legislation. It's also your last chance to enter our politics survey - and don't forget to check if changes to the law will affect your activities ahead of the general election.
Would you become a supporter of the Alliance? Please take a look at our Impact Report and help us reach further and do more.

Rescuing vulnerable children
Almost 50 years ago, Tearfund was born at the Alliance before launching out as a charity in its own right, and it has gone from strength to strength ever since. On 1 September, our fostering and adoption campaign Home for Good became a separate charity. The Alliance is thrilled that it can continue its wonderful impact on the UK's problem of 6,000 children awaiting adoption and more than 9,000 in need of fostering. Read the full story here.

We need your voice
It is essential that the voice of Christians is heard in a major Equality and Human Rights Commission survey.
General director of the Alliance Steve Clifford and director of advocacy Dave Landrum are urging Christians not to lose this vital opportunity. The survey asks people of all faiths about their experience and perception of how their beliefs are treated in the workplace and everyday life; the research will be used to consider the effectiveness of current legislation. Concerns about the marginalisation of Christians and religion being at the bottom of the hierarchy of human rights have been raised by the Alliance along with other organisations in recent years.

Please, don’t miss this chance - add your voice to the survey now.

We need your voice again!
Our own politics survey is closing on Sunday, so this is your last chance to take part here. We want to know how your faith impacts your politics. Does it affect who you vote for? Does your church talk about politics? By letting us know, you will help us create useful resources that can be used by churches, especially ahead of the general election next year.

New research - are we good neighbours? Our latest research report explores whether evangelicals really love their neighbours.
We found some remarkable examples of churches and individuals proactively building relationships in local communities and supporting people in their neighbourhoods.
But others admit they struggle to find time to relate to their neighbours and regret not helping someone they saw in need. One person told us: "In completing these answers I have learned how isolated I am and need to get to know my neighbours."

Could you be our missing piece?
We need more supporters. Have you considered what a difference a small regular donation could make to our work? As little as £3 a month – less than the cost of a sandwich! - helps us to inspire, challenge and equip churches across the UK. Find out more about what your gift could do.
