The Wild Goose Drop-In Centre wins award
On last Tuesday night, Jonathan Lee and I were invited to attend Premier’s Love Britain + Ireland Awards 2017 (Premier is a National Christian Media Company). A volunteer, who remains anonymous, nominated the Wild Goose Drop-in Centre for the Community Building category, one of six categories. We were shortlisted alongside five other ministries but did not receive an award. The seventh and final award, the top accolade of the night was then announced, and went to……. ‘The Wild Goose Café.’ God-smacked, humbled, emotional, and tearful, Jonathan and I walked up to receive the award.
This award is dedicated to all those who have been a part of the Wild Goose, previously ‘Missing Peace’, over the past 30 years or so. This would not have been possible unless Derek Groves, the original founder was obedient to God’s call. We are only able to do what we do today because of the faithfulness, obedience and commitment of our volunteers, supporters and staff in serving those who come to the Wild Goose and showing them the love of Jesus. It is the acceptance and love that we have experienced from our Father that enable us to be vessels through which the Fathers love can be shown to others.
I thank you from the deepest depths of my heart for joining in God’s mission for The Wild Goose and all the projects within Crisis Centre Ministers and pray that we may continue to be faithful and obedient in hearing Gods voice for what he has planned in the future years to come.

The centre also serves as a hub in signposting to appropriate voluntary and council services for service users. Alongside this we provide volunteering opportunities and also access points for agencies working with this client group.
