Release Academy Bristol
We would like to take the opportunity to re/introduce you to Release Academy Bristol.
Please take some time to read about our story, below - and find out how this training might serve those in your community.
Any number of these could be your situation...
We want to support you as leaders, and your church community. We see ourselves as a catalyst to igniting people's passion and relationship with Jesus in a radical way, whilst enabling students to remain grounded in their local church and communities in Bristol.
Would you like to see certain church members on fire for Jesus in a greater way?
You see potential in someone but haven't got the time to nurture them to life?
You need your potential leaders to be rooted and grounded in their identity in God?
You long for key church members (influencers) to be 'activated'?
You have highly gifted people who are making bad life choices, but no time to pastor them?
You have church members who have anxiety and are lacking confidence in their walk with God?
You have amazing people who have burnt out/or been hurt by the church?
You have that a/few charismatic nutter/s who needs to be understood and need understanding?
You long to see more of heaven on earth with a few people who are hungry for God but no place to go?
Release Academy started two years ago and has successfully completed its second year. It is a 9-month training school serving the church in Bristol, focusing on training and releasing confident ministers of the gospel who are secure in their identity and prepared to serve the church and the people of this great city. It is a growing ministry of LoveBristol Church based in Stokes Croft and on the 25th May 2019 we graduated our second year of Release Academy students; it was a wonderful joy-filled day hearing the testimonies of many changed lives. Our youngest student was 21 and the oldest will be a lady of 85 this next year.
Would you to consider partnering with us by encouraging your church members to consider joining next year's Release Academy. All the information can be found on the website (www.releaseacademy.org) but in brief: part-time students commit to one evening a week (Wednesday) and one Saturday a month, while the full-time course includes three additional full days. We also run stand-alone courses that people can pick from that run weekly through the full-time course (see below).
In the mornings we run Release Academy worship times, which are open to anyone from around the city, as are the two in-depth daytime bible courses with Alice Bond and Nick Crawley. Over the past two years, students have come from 15 churches across Bristol and beyond, and we have several local teachers delivering a growing daytime course content. We are looking to expand our courses next year, so please check out the website for updates.
One of our key kingdom activation's with our students is an adventure through mission. Our "Hat Trips" are becoming well known as we send students out for several short faith adventure/weekend mission trips. This year we sent teams to Norway, the Isle of Man and Spain, and in April most students took part in longer mission trips to South Africa, Turkey, Switzerland and one locally in Bristol. These were all incredible times seeing God powerfully at work healing and setting people free -our students have felt incredibly blessed through serving in this way! We are seeing normal Christians fall in love with Jesus! They share their journey and God's story through their hands and lives.
We see Release Academy as supporting the mission of the church in Bristol, by helping to fan into flame the gifts in the body of believers across the city. We believe God is doing a new thing in Bristol and we are living in a time of great openness to the gospel. We would love to play our part in seeing increasing numbers of believers across the church in Bristol empowered and equipped to witness and minister with Godly confidence.
Whilst our content is modelled in part on content from BSSM (Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry) from Bethel Church in Redding California, it is also has a distinctly 'Bristol flavour' as students remain rooted in their local church settings and neighbourhoods whilst in the school. This gives context to everything we do.
Four practical ways to engage with us:
1) We would love to connect, by chatting on the phone if you would like to know more, or better yet to come and meet with you if you have the time. Share heart and build kingdom with you.
2) If that is not possible, would you consider receiving a poster in the post for your church bulletin board? We would need a current postal address.
3) We have also attached a marketing pack for you to peruse and use whatever your context, to explain RA to your church members. You could even put us in your church newsletter/weekly bulletin?
4) Added to this we would love for the opportunity to come and present, with a small team, RA to you at a Sunday service (10 minutes up front and a booth/banner/QandA at the end).
Whilst we know this course isn't everyone's cup of tea, we have a real heart to see church members who want to impact their everyday lives with an extraordinary Jesus.
