One25 is proud to have won this CSJ award
This prestigious national award from the Centre for Social Justice think tank is a great encouragement and an important spotlight on the women One25 works with.
As well as awarding a £10k prize, the Centre for Social Justice created this deeply moving and inspiring film about One25:
Proud to have won
One25 is proud to have won a CSJ Award, especially this year when staff and volunteers have worked so hard to keep vital services running during lockdowns. Importantly, it recognises that One25’s work in Bristol is all about how vulnerable women are marginalised by society.
It’s not their fault that they’re in dangerous or harmful situations. The issues they face are because of trauma in their lives. Too often the services they need either aren’t there or are really difficult to access. For many women, One25 is all that’s there when there’s no one else to turn to.
Amazing changes
But each of these women is brave, strong and worth everything; we see them make amazing changes. Last year we worked with 237 women and 123 were supported to use specialist services.
And we hope that the award sends out a clear message that – with love and professional support – women can find safety and healing, become independent and thrive in the community.
Congratulations
Andy Cook, Chief Executive of the
Centre for Social Justice think tank, said:
“One25 shows incredible patience in meeting the long-term needs of the most marginalised women in Bristol. They are helping these women to form a long-term home and live happier, healthier lives.
“I congratulate them on winning the Award this year amid a strong field of candidates, and very much look forward to working with them.”
Thank you all for your continued support. Please do
watch the beautiful film.
Best wishes,
