Bristol Noise - Update for Community Leaders

Hi there!

We're writing to you as someone who works in a community-focused role within our city, and want to start by saying a big THANK YOU for the ways that you have continued to support people over the last few months in these ever-changing times!

We're here with a bit of a post-summer update for you. Have a scroll down this article to see what we've been up to and opportunities for you and your community...

The Noise 2021

Back in May, we hosted a weekend of social action, with over 400 volunteers from churches across the city involved in hosting free community events, delivering cream teas and working to transform gardens, public areas and community spaces for those who needed a helping hand.

It was a great time of reconnection amid a difficult year, both for volunteers and for those we saw at the events or on the doorstep. Thank you to everyone who was involved in putting forward projects or spreading the word!

If you have any community events or training that you would like shared among the church networks, please contact us.

Noise 365

For the last 21 years, our activity has been focused on hosting an annual event (called 'The Noise') where volunteers across the city come together to support and connect with their community. This has grown from 30 volunteers back in 2001, to over 900 hosting The Noise in 14 neighbourhoods across the city.

One of our aims is to see individuals and churches involved in their community all year round, and while our annual event has provided a springboard for that, we're now working on a new venture to inspire and equip people in ways they can do this all year round: Noise 365

With that in mind, we have TWO questions for you...

1) Do you need volunteers?
We are regularly spreading the word about volunteer opportunities to support your work in communities and would love to hear from you!
>>> Get in touch if you have a role to advertise, or tag us on Twitter

2) What would you like to see happen in your community, if you had help to make it happen?
We've learnt, over time, that good things can happen when two or three heads are put together and the responsibility is shared. We'd love to connect you with people in local churches who are keen to help create a better neighbourhood for all.

>>> Get in touch if you have ideas or aren't already connected to churches in the community you work in.

If you'd like to meet with us, to talk further about how we can support what's going on in your community, please get in touch.

Thank you, once again, for your involvement this year! We look forward to continuing to work alongside you to bring hope to our city.
