Christian Action Bristol: Dec 2021 - Happy Christmas and Thank you!
HAPPY CHRISTMAS! AND THANKS TO ALL OF YOU
Christmas is an exciting time. It also provides us with a chance for prayerful reflection and planning for the year ahead.
As this year draws to a close, it's clear that the impacts of the pandemic continue. Especially as we see case numbers rise with the new Omicron variant.
2021 was another challenging year. But over that year, we again saw remarkable expressions of God's love and compassion.
Acts of care, unity and generosity in our communities and across our city.
We've seen increasing alignment through engagement with city-wide initiatives. We've also seen strategic use and sharing of resources, all reflected in many wonderful examples demonstrating that, together,
we are building Bristol as a City of Hope.
At the same time, we are also aware that there are still massive needs in our city and on our streets.
As we look towards 2022, we want to continue to
meet people IN CRISIS. But, we also need to think about how we support and empower more people on their pathways
OUT OF CRISIS.
Together, we need to be committed to addressing root causes and supporting people of all ages and backgrounds on their individual journeys to recovery, renewal and ultimately to freedom.
Christmas reminds us of the need for light in dark times, for hope in a troubled world. It reminds us of a
Father God who SO loved the world that he gave us His Son Jesus.
This is the love that came down at Christmas for you, for me, for us all (it's almost too wonderful to comprehend!). So let's continue to share that love and generosity.
Thank you for being part of a City of Hope.

Bristol Churches City Fund will be relaunching in Jan 2022 with a new campaign around child welfare.
The well-being of children and young people has been profoundly impacted as a result of the pandemic, and support is urgently needed.
Funds raised through the generosity of Christians and churches across the city will be used to support three vitally important strategic initiatives.

CHRISTMAS GIFT BAG PROJECT FOR PRISONERS
Support Sixty-One’s work with prisoners this Christmas - they need funding for their Christmas Gift project, giving 1,400 prisoners a simple bag of presents at a time of year when being in prison is so hard, as well as our work with ex-prisoners.
