Praise and Prayer Bulletin from Together4Bristol
for prayer and encouragement!
Spring 2022

Hi everyone

Hi everyone~

Here are a few examples of the Christian community working together across the Bristol region in the last few months, with Praise for what has happened recently and Prayer and Action for the rest of 2022!

Please pass these on to your contacts, to encourage them and for prayer!

We thank God for:

1. T4B's AGM in November, with over 70 church, prayer and sphere leaders gathering to discuss the Christian Community Vision to 2050, Building Bristol as a City of Hope, to help engage with Bristol's One City Plan to 2050.

2. Two prayer gatherings in February: the National Day of Prayer for Bristol, with 270 on Zoom, and Prayer in the Cathedral for the Ukraine, with up to 200 present. Pray for a good response to the Ukrainian crisis, for example through the Emergency Appeal

3. The Bristol Churches Winter Night Shelter which ran for 5 months from November 2021 to March 2022. It provides support for people with lower level needs, so people can concentrate on finding a job and so on. More funds are needed, so if you are interested please contact Amanda Munday:

4. The Politics and Social Action sphere, called Christian Action Bristol (CAB), led by Andy Street. For the launch, with over 40 church leaders, of the Good Faith Partnership’s ‘Bristol Churches Recovery Renewal’ Report.  Pray for CAB, leading the Christian community's contribution to the Recovery and Renewal of Bristol over the next few years.

5. The launch of Spear Bristol which will engage with over 90 young people across the city every year, to support them into sustainable work or education. The next Programme starts in May. Contact to find out more!

6. The amazing response from CAB and the Family sphere, to the need for fostering, with over 60 households from 18 churches volunteering. 30 are now in the process of becoming foster parents (see this film). For details, contact Stu Dendy Home for Good.

7. The Keyboard Trust networker, Carmen Carrol, who connects with 40 Pentecostal and Evangelical churches in the region, with Online workshops and events on Mental Health and Racial Justice. For the “Racism and the Church” private Facebook group, which has about 300 members. Contact

8. For regular prayer gatherings for the Business, Education, Health, and Family spheres. For the Arts sphere, their new Kingdom Creatives website and a 10-minute film (with the Education sphere) “Shining like Stars”, encouraging primary school children to shine.

9. The new Enabler for Mission and Unity (EMU), Ian Taylor, who has taken over from Roger Allen, who will continue with T4B, networking across the spheres of life. Pray for Ian and the Trustees of T4B for best ways forward and for the appointment of a Compliance, Finance and Administration Manager to allow the Enabler to focus more on mission.

We pray for:

1. The Noise 2022 (April 30 to 2 May), which shows God's love in practical ways. Also for Noise 365 which takes this vision into every day of the year.

2. The Bristol Churches City Fund, which focuses on Child Welfare in 2022, to raise funds for fostering and adoption (though Home for Good), supporting troubled children at primary school age (through Transforming Lives for Good) and supporting struggling teenagers (through Kintsugi Hope)

3. CAB as it works with the Good Faith Partnership and Love Bristol to lead the Bristol churches’ response to the Ukrainian refugee crisis. Alongside a significant number of hosts providing temporary accommodation for refugees (mainly women and children), 10 ‘Welcome Hubs’ are being set up by churches across the city, commissioned by Bristol City Council and supported by Bridges for Communities and Bristol Hospitality Network. This is a unique multi-agency / multi-sector collaborative effort.

4. The Education sphere and Bristol Schools Connection, working with CAB and the council, to help churches connect with Transforming Lives for Good (TLG) to provide mentors in 20 schools, with ten in place so far.

5. The church leaders' prayer breakfast with the Mayor, in person at the Cathedral, on Thursday, May 12th. If you are a church leader, contact Ian Taylor (see below).

6. The Bristol Housing Festival team's growing partnerships across the region, following the Re-imaging Better Ways to Live in our Cities gathering, to support churches who are commencing their housing journey to serve their communities and to build on the momentum that is growing across the Church to steward land and assets with renewed purpose for the good of the city.

7. Homes not Houses, teaming up with In-hope and ‘Hope into Action’, helping 3 churches on the journey to providing homes (move-on housing) for those affected by homelessness.

8. The Health sphere's weekly Zooms for encouraging creativity, for healing and for the growing Healing Centre Project. For Bristol Healing Rooms' sessions in person and on Zoom. To find out details contact:

9. All the finance and resources needed tor Bristol to help in Ukraine and surrounding countries, for example through Transform Europe Network's appeal.
