How many Foodbank parcels did Bristol handout collectively over the past 12 months?

Welcome to this month's inHope e-newsletter!
inHope's vision is of communities where everybody can reach their God-given potential, free from injustice and insecurity.

Read on to hear how we've been working towards this vision, and how your support is enabling lives to be changed.

South and East Bristol Foodbank
Over the last 12 months, the three The Trussell Trust foodbanks across Bristol have given out 30,543 foodbank parcels to people in crisis.
Together, Bristol North West Foodbank, South and East Bristol Foodbank & North Bristol & South Glos Foodbank are continuing to support the most vulnerable across our city & surrounding areas.

The unprecedented rise in the cost of living has only just begun and already we are seeing an increase in people needing help. Unfortunately, at the same time food donations have decreased and our foodbank warehouse currently has NONE OR VERY LOW STOCK of the following items.
Foodbank needed items
We recognise that these times are challenging for everyone, but if you are able, please can you add these to your shopping; just one or two items will help a lot.

Thank you for your support!

The Wild Goose wellbeing sessions have begun.
We were so happy to have Haircuts 4 Homeless with us on 25th April, for their first of many sessions cutting hair for Wild Goose clients.
It was great to see people coming in nervously but relaxing once they got chatting with the lovely hairdressers, having a brownie and a cuppa, and leaving with a great big smile and looking really smart! It is amazing how a haircut can change how someone feels about themselves and their outlook. There was a really positive buzz that was encouraging to all!
We were also honoured to have the founders of the charity ‘Haircuts 4 Homeless’ Stewart MBE and Belinda with us from London!

From the 9th May, the Wild Goose opened fully during the day, 9:30am - 3pm!
Food service times will remain the same: 9.30-10.30 breakfast and 12-1.30pm lunch. Outside of these times tea/coffee will be served and Matt and Naomi (Engagement Team) will be available to give support and signposting.
The team are starting to develop a weekly timetable of activities for people to participate in such as film viewing, provide a space to explore deeper conversations, and also bookable activities by outside agencies such as the hairdressers.
If you have been doing some Spring cleaning recently and have good quality colouring pens/pencils, unused crossword, sudoku and adult colouring books, a good quality and working DVD player, good quality jigsaw puzzles, or chess and draughts sets, please can you donate them to the Wild Goose? If you can, please drop-off to the Wild Goose (32 Stapleton Road, BS5 0QY) on weekdays between 10:30-11:30am.
Thank you!
Spring of Hope - new Manager
We are so pleased to let you know that the new manager for Spring of Hope women's night shelter is starting next week!
Please send up prayers, if you're a pray-er, or good vibes if not, to Nicola as she starts her new role: for her, Trudy, and the Spring of Hope volunteers to build a good rapport, for Nicola to feel part of the whole staff team, and for plans to come together for what is next for Spring of Hope; continuing to provide women in Bristol with shelter, hope and support.
Staff Weekend Away
The staff team will be enjoying time away together over the weekend of 11th June. We haven't been able to do this for two years, and with an increasing number of staff, at various different sites, a mixture of home and on-site working, it will be great to spend time as a whole team, away from work, socialising, getting to know new people, eating good food, and having fun together.
