Inspiration

Dear All

We know that for many of you, this week marks the final week of a busy, and sometimes unpredictable, school year. We want to say a massive 'WELL DONE' for all you're doing by reaching out to your local school communities!

Over the last few weeks we've had the pleasure of meeting up with some of you and hearing about all the amazing things you've been doing to support local children and young people at school this year, from hosting prayer spaces, Christmas and Easter in a Box sessions, praying for your school, running lunch-time clubs, hosting RE visits to church and multiple other things - you inspire us!

What's most encouraging is to hear how many of you have become recognised and trusted additions to school life, deepening the relationship between church and howie-r-CjI 2QX7hvU-unsplash 4school. Many of the schools you work in now see the local church as a relevant, appropriate and supportive partner in raising and educating their pupils. This is wonderful.

Hundreds and thousands of conversations of a spiritual nature have occurred this year because of local church leaders, staff and volunteers like you taking time to connect with local school. We'll never know the true impact of it all. Suffice to say that, with all that's going on in the world, our children, young people and schools need support more than ever.

We are convinced that church (by which we mean the people, of course) is waking up to the fact that the vast majority of local children and young people will never set foot in a church building. This should not be a problem for us! Because we can do as Jesus did, and go out to them. Jesus never had a building to which he summoned or invited people. He was out there in the market place, interacting and sharing God's love.

What a privilege for us to be able to do the same! So WELL DONE and THANK YOU for all you do in schools!

If you're reading this and you haven't been involved much in school lately, or ever, but would like to - and if you live in the Bristol region - we'd love to have a chat with you and see how we can support you.

There are a few great local stories on our facebook page currently - check them out! @bristolschoolsconnection

Have a wonderful, restful summer break - may all peace be yours.
Love
Jane and Liz
