Coming up: Climate actions you’ll want to be part of

I don’t know about you, but sometimes my contribution to making the world a fairer place feels inadequate when faced with the massive challenges ahead of us. It’s easy to be discouraged. But then I remember that the church is actually the world’s biggest civil society organisation – that’s us, you and me! When we come together (and with others too), a movement of people working together can bring transformation in the lives of people living in poverty. We know poverty is not God's plan – but you are. This September there are some brilliant opportunities to be part of movements and to speak up together for change. Here are three to get you started:

Great Big Green Week (24 September to 2 October). Thousands of people will be taking part in events that help tackle climate change and it’s so important that the church is part of this. You can read our blog about the events Christians in Lindfield organised last year. Consider joining an event or putting something on (it doesn’t need to be big). Contact us on campaigns a_t tearfund d_o_t org if you need some ideas or help!
Season of Creation. All around the world churches will be taking time to focus on the environmental crisis during September – could your church join them? As we pray, discuss, worship and take action together we can make a difference. You can find lots of resources here.
Send a Coin. Our Time to Deliver campaign has been gathering pace as we head towards the climate talks in Egypt (COP27). To increase pressure on our Government, we’ve got a NEW action launching on Wednesday 14 September… Watch this space! In the meantime, don’t forget to sign our petition if you haven’t already done so.
