National Day of Prayer for the Media – Sunday 30th October

Have you spoken to your church leaders? Will you be setting aside time in your church meetings to pray for your local, regional, national and social media: to pray for you and colleagues who work in, and with, media?

We are receiving requests from around the world to join in on this special day. Let’s make this day an annual cry to churches in the UK to pray for you, and this crucial area of public life. Last year, we produced this excellent short video as an intro to a time of prayer. It is still relevant today.

Show this video to your church leaders, and encourage them to play it during your church meetings before the time of prayer. Let us know how you get on. We would love to hear from you.

Lunchtime Prayer Meetings On Thursday, 25th August, we continued our series of Lunchtime Prayer Meeting with a special focus on Christian freelancers working in, and with, media. Thank you to Josie Gamble, Peter Wooding, Anna Gill and Ali Burnett for their wonderful contributions. We believe it is so important to pray for you. Our Lunchtime Prayer Meetings on Zoom are a great way of uniting brothers and sisters who work in, and with, media to be encouraged, inspired and feel part of a family. For anyone feeling anxious at this time:

For those struggling to sleep at night, worrying about how they will cover their bills. Pray that they will be able to receive the support they need and for God to fill them with His peace that passes all understanding:

Lord, when my heart is overwhelmed, overwhelm me with your peace. Lead me to you, O Lord, my rock. Guide me to your Word, which gives me strength and refuge. Help me not to run to lesser things. Draw me to run to You first. Help me get into the habit of taking my ‘overwhelmed’ and placing it under your will. Thank you, Lord, we pray this in Jesus’ name.
