Bristol Churches City Fund: Support for asylum seekers campaign
|
Bristol is home to many asylum seekers who have had to leave everything behind and flee their country to escape violence, war and persecution.
Many individuals and families who have come to Bristol are currently living in hotels, where lack of communal spaces and aeroplane-style packaged food threatens the well-being of individuals, families and especially children as people wait to make their asylum claim.
Just before Easter 2023, Bristol City Council have specifically asked the church across Bristol to support this vulnerable group. They have asked churches to set up and fund a Welcome Hub in the city centre to welcome and support asylum-seeking families stuck in hotels.
Bristol Churches City Fund e want to raise £20,000 to fund the running of this new city centre Welcome Hub for its first year.
