We are extremely glad to announce that Spring of Hope Women's Centre will be opening 7 nights a week from Tuesday 9th May!

We want to thank you for your support, patience, and prayers as it has taken time to get to this exciting moment.
Pictured here are the staff team of nine passionate and dedicated women who are buzzing to get started with providing a warm, safe, clean and calm place for vulnerable women to stay overnight. The six new recruits have been busy being inducted, completing all the necessary training, and spending plenty of time getting to know each other as a team before starting night shifts in pairs.
Now that we have an opening date, Spring of Hope will need the support of volunteers for Housekeeping (8am - 11am), and many other volunteer roles to support daytime activities. Find out more here.

We are part of this year's Big Give Kind2Mind Mental Health Matched Fund!
Between Monday 15th May - Monday 22nd May your donations made via our Big Give page will be doubled up to £5,000! That's a possible £10,000 to go towards the work of Life Recovery, particularly the peer support group and drop-ins that are led by people with lived experience of addiction and poor mental health.
To be able to live well in recovery it is vital for people to be in regular contact with those who are going through the same / have been through the same; their peers.
Please save the date in your diary and keep an eye out for next month's e-newsletter and social media posts with the link for our Big Give page.
Your donation will make twice the difference to people who are working hard to live well in recovery.

Ollie is part of the Life Recovery peer support group and he shared part of his story.
"For many years I struggled with anxiety and depression, and used drugs to avoid the triggers and escape the thoughts. Over the course of many years, this helped me to get by, but my problems were still there, simply stored up with their effects delayed and ultimately magnified. Now I had to do things differently. I did not want to fall back into the old patterns of behaviour."

Supermarket collection tomorrow for our Foodbank that serves South and East Bristol.
A team of volunteers will be at Sainsbury's Castle Court (St Philip's Causeway) and Co-op in Downend tomorrow handing out leaflets with needed items and able to receive your donations as you leave the store.
Our Foodbank have been giving out more food than they're receiving in donations recently, which has meant they've had to buy extra food.
If you're not local, you can still help by donating via their online shop: https://eastbristol.foodbank.org.uk/give-help/donate-food/

Hope into Action: Bristol - providing homes for people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
We had a successful evening with a dozen churches represented, all wanting to hear how they could be involved.
Five current tenants stole the show by sharing how having a safe and stable home and a loving and supportive community from the church has hugely helped them. One said, "Anyone thinking of doing it, please do it - We’ve (tenants) been through big problems in our lives and there are people out there who’ve given us another chance...this has changed my life."
Following the evening we had feedback from a church leader:
“I was profoundly moved after attending a recent Hope into Action information evening for Church Leaders. Seeing, at first hand, how the church can directly impact the lives of the homeless and marginalised, was a life changing experience for me. One that will impact my ministry going forward.”

If you would like to find out more about Hope into Action: Bristol and how you could get involved, please visit their website here.

Sugar and Men's boxers/underwear for the Wild Goose Day Centre

As any Wild Goose volunteer knows, the service users love a lot of sugar in their teas and coffees! They have nearly run out of sugar completely.

The team has also run out of men's boxers/underwear, which is the most popular item service users asked for. I can't imagine not having clean underwear, can you?

If you are able, please donate these items via our Give Today online donations page here.
