May 2023
The Noise 2023 took place a few weeks ago with over 650 volunteers involved in showing God's love in practical ways across the city together on one weekend. This annual event is meant to be an opportunity to serve in local neighbourhoods but also be open to catching a longer term vision for our lives individually and together. Catch up with quotes, photos and what happened here - www.thenoise.org.uk/2023 and also hear about the future of the Noise event and plans for next year here.
Bristol Noise charity's vision is to inspire you, and other Christians across our city, with how we can all be showing God's love in practical ways throughout the year. Noise 365 is a resource to channel the stories, ideas and learning we find across our city and further afield as we seek to do just that. Please check out our website here for more details.
This month, we want to share with you an important Noise 365 event that we are co-hosting with Christian Action Bristol and Good Faith Partnership and to invite you to sign up to come along to Building Bristol: A City of Hope on Saturday 10th June. Full details below. |

‘A CITY OF HOPE’ is an event on Saturday 10th June that will bring together Christians from all over Bristol to explore how we can most effectively work in partnership to support our city's critical and complex needs.
As we look forward as a city-wide church, we recognise that addressing the city’s critical needs requires us to work more collaboratively and strategically.
With the ongoing pressure of the ‘Cost-of-Living Crisis’, compounding existing issues and inequalities, this is a call to reflect and also to look forward and commit to justice, unity, and partnership, together and with the city.
The event will be an opportunity to hear from local contributors working in key areas, including Homelessness, Mental Health, Diversity, Refugees/Asylum Seekers and more. And there will also be opportunities for worship and prayer, alongside a keynote contribution from Dr Krish Kandiah of the Sanctuary Foundation.
The event is on Saturday 10th June from 9am-1pm at E5 Church, Jamaica Street, BS2 8JP. For more details and sign up ASAP for your free place >>

Update: More volunteers needed for City Centre Welcome Hub
We still need volunteers to join our growing team from churches across Bristol coming together to support asylum seeker families and individuals placed in a new city centre hotel. Bristol City Council have specifically asked churches to unite and support these families in a new Welcome Hub near the hotel and we are privileged to be asked to serve in this way. The Welcome Hub will initially open on Tuesday mornings from 11-1. We have some excellent and compulsory training for volunteers happening on Tuesday 16th and 23rd May ready to open the Hub in late May. To sign up to receive more information and attend the trainings, please register your interest before Friday 12th May - https://bit.ly/42Bis5J If you can’t do Tuesdays but want to be involved, please also express your interest for our anticipated second weekly session, or other opportunities to work with asylum seekers. If you want to support this new church-wide scheme to support asylum seekers but can’t give your time, consider donating to help cover training, food and activity costs for the new Welcome Hub - https://www.bristolchurchescityfund.co.uk/support-for-asylum-seekers Organised by Christian Action Bristol and Good Faith Partnership
