Join the ReWear Revolution this Sustainable Fashion Week at Sparks
We currently have enough clothes in the world to last us another six generations. Yet, each year over 100 billion items of clothing are made, contributing to around 10% of global carbon emissions. That’s why Sustainable Fashion Week is gathering Bristol’s sustainable fashion activators together to share their knowledge and skills and celebrate the sustainable fashion revolution.
Join us at the Bristol Hub in Sparks on Sat 30 Sept and Sun 1 Oct when we will be bursting at the seams with talks, workshops, clothes swaps, pop-up shops and a revolutionary runway!

Book your ticket for the ReWear Revolution Runway
Sustainable Fashion Week presents an evening of revolutionary style on the runway, rebelling against fast fashion and the cult of new. The runway show will feature Bristol designers and second-hand sellers, all styled by our very own in-house sustainable stylist, Meg from Clothemod.
Meg said, “I’ve always been obsessed with finding secondhand gems in charity shops and vintage stores; that feeling of seeing something totally unique amongst the chaos is just incredible! So to represent the ReWear Revolution, I am styling the entire runway with one-off statement pieces that are bold and powerful, all sourced from local makers, charities and vintage stores.”

Delve into the world of sustainable fashion at one of our talks
What role do forests play in fashion and how connected is your clothing to forests around the globe? Join Tallulah Chapman from the Forest Stewardship Council who will be discussing the role of forests in fashion. Or join Dr Dion Terrelonge, AKA The Fashion Psychologist, in an exploration of the personal relationships that we form with our clothing and the role this plays in cherishing, caring and rewearing our garments. Learn how discovering your style can help you switch to preloved and get top tips from not one but TWO sustainable stylists, including Sparks very own Meg from Clothemod!

Learn how to mend, create and rework your clothes
Bring along a preloved t-shirt to Children’s Scrapstore’s t-shirt upcycling workshop, and give it a new lease of life by cutting, weaving, sewing, embellishing and decorating. Or learn how to cover up holes or stains on your well-loved garments by creating beautiful appliqué patches from off-cuts and waste fabrics with Laura Roberts from Public Footpath. And, in collaboration with Repair What You Wear, SFW reopen their Sparks repair cafe for one weekend only! Bring in your broken clothes and they will fix minor damage such as rips, holes, missing buttons and loose hems.

Refresh your wardrobe at the Waste Not Clothes Swap
We’re so excited to welcome Sustainable Fashion Week’s clothes swap back into Sparks, all weekend long. Simply bring along up to 10 items of unwanted clothes and accessories (clean and undamaged of course!), exchange them for tokens and swap your tokens for some lovely new clothes! Held in collaboration with Changes Bristol, proceeds will go towards funding their invaluable mental wellbeing services.

Learn about the impact of fast fashion on people and the planet
The fast fashion industry is not only damaging for our environment, but it also promotes poor working conditions and pay for the people that make our clothes. Pop into Sparks to check out Labour Behind the Label’s free ‘ Voices from Fashion Factories’ exhibition, on all weekend, which gives voice to fashion factory workers and demonstrates the waste caused by fast fashion. Or if you can’t get into Sparks, why not play the Threads online game and let Global Goals Centre take you on an immersive journey exploring how our clothes can be changed for good.
