KICKING OFF 2024 WITH SOME EXCITING NEWS!

Happy New Year! We hope your 2023 was as fantastic as ours! Last year we welcomed over 350,000 visitors through our doors and now we’re thrilled to share the incredible news that Sparks will be open until at least December 2025.


Our vision is to continue to grow this vibrant community space as a place to foster creativity and share imaginative ways to lead a more sustainable lifestyle… and we want you to be a part of it!

A LOOK BACK AT AN INCREDIBLE YEAR

In 2023, we supported over 120 local ethical traders, saved over 11,000 items from landfill, provided free energy advice to 1,315 people and educated 2,260 young people about sustainability. We also hosted a loads of events including Bristol Palestine Film Festival’s ‘Poetry On Palestine’ event, Craig Revel Horwood’s dance masterclass and Aardman’s Summer of Film event.


None of this would have been possible without the incredible support from our partners, sponsors, traders, volunteers and amazing visitors like you.

WHAT’S ON THE HORIZON FOR SPARKS?

Now that our lease has been extended, we're ready to take Sparks to new heights. There have already been some exciting changes in Sparks this month, with more new traders joining us in the next few weeks. The Repair Cafe has relaunched as The Repairium, offering even more ways for people to repair and reuse, including offering a cable library. Come and see the changes and keep an eye on our website for updates.


We also hope our success story will encourage more independent organisations to lead the revitalisation of the high street!

A huge part of our aim at Sparks is to educate young people about environmental and social issues, igniting a passion for positive action. Last year over 2,000 young people visited the store to learn about sustainability. Now we need your support to equip even more young people with the knowledge and skills they need to tackle some of the most pressing issues of our time.
