Scholarships to Study Theology at Trinity College

Would you love to study theology but are put off by the thought of how much it would cost or by concerns about your academic credentials? The various scholarships available at Trinity College in Stoke Bishop might be the answer.

Relay Scholarships

For people either based in or called to serve in the South West, there are several fully-funded scholarships available in partnership with the Relay Trust. These are specifically aimed at people who might struggle with fees and/or those from a non-standard academic background. They would cover all your fees, and in the case of full-time residential students would cover living costs as well.

As the step up to degree-level learning can be a big and daunting one for anyone coming from a non-traditional academic background, or who hasn’t studied in a long time, we have a learning programme designed to ensure our students flourish in their studies, which allows the student to build up to degree-level study more gradually, with some preliminary teaching at Level 3 (A-level equivalent), as well as a full programme of learning support and study skills support.

Jubilee Scholarship

There is also one scholarship available every year to cover the full cost of tuition fees for a Black British undergraduate or taught postgraduate student. It is for full-time study on either our residential or dispersed (block week-based) learning pathway, for up to three years, for the completion of a BA in Theology, Ministry and Mission or up to two years for the completion of an MA in Theology, Ministry and Mission (it is not available to ordinands, whose fees are covered by the Church of England).

To find out more about either scholarship, you can read more on our website, or contact our admissions officer, Naomi, at or on 0117 968 0254.
