In the UK, 25% of women will experience domestic abuse. These are not strangers to us; they’re our friends, family, neighbours, colleagues and often the women sitting next to us in church. Sadly, most people who are experiencing abuse do not see the church as a place where they can access help or support. We have to change this.

We believe that God’s heart for women is one of love, protection, honour, and justice. His desire is for women to be safe, free from fear, restored and thriving in relationships, both in the church, in our city and beyond.

We are keen to mobilise Christians around this issue - people who feel impassioned and motivated to work together to bring about change   We would love you to join us for a preliminary event to gather together voices from within the church on the topic of domestic abuse.

We have Revd Dr Helen Paynter and Dr Alison Gregory as our guest speakers for the evening, covering why domestic abuse is a relevant topic in the church context, and how we can all be part of the solution.  We’re pleased to also have Christian organisations, Restored and Kintsugi Hope, joining us.

Whether you are in a formal or an informal leadership position in church, or you simply feel that ‘enough is enough’, we’d love you to come and join in the discussions. The event is open to anyone who has a vision for a world where women are safe.

We will endeavour to create a space which feels safe, providing alternative areas where you can take a breather and/or receive some prayer support.
