The King visited Parliament on Wednesday for the official state opening. This episode unpacks the purpose of the Speech, and what we've learned from it.

Pray for Politics

1. The Policy Team have been continuing work to combat ongoing attempts to change the law on assisted suicide across the British Isles, including in Jersey, the Isle of Man, Scotland and at Westminster. Please pray for effective partnerships with parliamentarians and external organisations – that our campaigning would be filled with truth and grace.

2. Please continue to pray for the new intake of MPs and for the right relationships to develop and grow with likeminded parliamentarians.

3. In the global political arena, please pray for the United States as the Republicans and Democrats prepare for the election in November this year, following the recent assassination attempt on former President Trump and ongoing questions about the health and viability of President Biden as a candidate. Pray for a renewed politics – one of humility and a desire for the common good.
