Hundreds of families have been hunting the knitted geese on the Wild Goose Chase, raising money for the Wild Goose. It's been great to see the photos of children having fun on the chase!

Wild Goose Chase Silent Auction
This is your chance to take home one or more of the 15 knitted / crocheted geese!
The auction will run from 30th August – 6th September. To bid for a Goose you simply need to input your details, the name of the goose you are bidding for and make your silent bid on this form: Wild Goose Chase Silent Auction (office.com).
All money raised from the auction will go towards providing food, practical support and hope at the Wild Goose to people who are sleeping rough in Bristol.
Volunteers needed!
There are quite a few volunteer roles available with us at the moment, across most of our services. Find out about them and whether you'd be a good fit here: https://www.inhope.uk/get-involved/volunteer/.
There are three roles that are urgent and without volunteers we cannot effectively run or start the new group at Spring of Hope specifically.
1. Spring of Hope Group Activity volunteer (female only)
Mondays, Tuesdays or Wednesdays.
Examples of activities:-
Haircuts monthly or bi-monthly Mondays 11am-1pm
Creative wellbeing group on Tuesdays 12:30pm – 3:15pm
Beauty sessions Wednesdays 1-4pm
Health Hub Wednesdays 8.45- 11.15am
Typical tasks/ activities

Pray together before and after the group, or be comfortable whilst others pray.

Help set up the room before meeting.

Encourage good interactions between the women who attend.

Oversee activities such as arts and crafts, life skills, wellbeing, or visits from outside agencies.

Oversee cleaning up at the end of the session.

2. Encounter Group volunteer at Spring of Hope women’s night shelter (female only)
You will need to be able to volunteer on Thursdays, fortnightly 10am – 1.30pm, we ask volunteers to be prepared to commit to a minimum of six months volunteering.
The Encounter Group Volunteer role will support a safe and caring environment for vulnerable women with differing needs to come together during the day to socialise and take part in creative and Christian faith based activities.
What you will be doing

Ensuring that Spring of Hope is ready to receive guests by setting up the group space.

Welcoming women into Spring of Hope.

Encourage good interactions between the women who attend the group

Take part in activities such as crafts, pampering, worship and faith based activities.

Tidy and clean up at the end of the session.

Pray with staff and volunteers before the session, and possibly with the women who attend.

3. South & East Bristol Foodbank volunteer van driver
Tuesdays 11am-1.30pm or Fridays 9am-11am or Fridays 12noon-2pm
We ask for a regular commitment, usually weekly or fortnightly, for at least three months.
Typical tasks/activities
We are looking for a confident van driver with a passion for supporting the community and those in need of using the Foodbank. This role involves driving our inHope van to collect food donations from Supermarket collection points in Tesco Eastgate and Sainsburys Castle Court, and then drop them off at our warehouse in Easton.
You will also need to have a Category C entitlement on your drivers licence to drive our electric van.
