Sixty-One is a Bristol-based charity providing relational and practical support to women and men with a criminal conviction and the motivation to change. We also seek to inspire, engage and equip the church and individual Christians to join our work as a practical expression of Jesus’s love for people on the margins.

MentorMe, Sixty-One’s mentoring project for people with criminal convictions, is looking for a Project Liaison Officer 4 days a week. This role will carry a mixed caseload; however, the successful candidate will be the lead for our work with women, including regular visits to HMP Eastwood Park and female Approved Premises in Bristol.

In light of the vulnerabilities of many women in the criminal justice system, there is an occupational requirement for this role to be filled by a woman.

The successful candidate will join a small, friendly and committed team that engages with the criminal justice and community sectors to build partnership relationships and source referrals for potential mentees; trains volunteer mentors from local congregations across Bristol; then matches, supports and oversees mentee-mentor relationships.

Excellent people skills, perseverance, problem solving, presentation skills, attention to detail and record keeping are key to this role. The ideal candidate would also have some knowledge and experience/qualifications around substance misuse and criminal justice, although this is not a requirement. You will need access to a car for travel to community-based meetings.
