Toddler Care and Mum Support
Overview:
Seeking a compassionate and reliable mother’s helper to support a mum with care for her 19-month-old toddler, Olli, from Tuesday 11-6
Wednesday 12-6 (morning to be confirmed), Thursday 9-6
Rate of pay £12.60 pa rate
Self employed £15
This role focuses on emotional and practical support for both mum and child.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide hands-on support with toddler care, including:

Feeding.
-
Managing toddler behaviour.
-
Emotional regulation.
-
Play and exercise.
-
Bedtime routines
-
Support mum with daily tasks, offering both practical assistance and emotional support.
-
Communicate openly and respectfully with clear boundaries.
-
Be responsive to changes and offer help in emotionally charged moments with compassion and care.
Requirements:

Experience working with toddlers (age 1–2 years).
-
Child care Qualification.
-
Sensitivity to mental health challenges, especially CPTSD.
-
Health and social care qualification with envasis on Mental health.
-
Able to offer a calm, non-judgemental presence.

Experience supporting mums with mental health needs is highly valued.

Driver with business insurance is essential.

Must be reliable, flexible, and trustworthy.
Interview Focus:

Toddler Care & Mum Support – Role Description:
Support Days/Hours:
Tuesday: 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Wednesday: 12:00 – 6:00 PM (morning to be confirmed)
Thursday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Supporting Mum and 19-month-old Olli
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Toddler Care:

Support Olli’s emotional regulation and help manage toddler behaviors.

Provide meals/snacks (help prepare, supervise eating, clean up).
-
Ensure daily physical activity (walks, park, soft play etc.).
-
Supervise playtime with responsiveness and engagement.
2. Emotional Support for Mum:
-
Understand and respond to CPTSD, dissociation, and OCD with compassion.
-
Offer grounded, calm presence.
-
Support Mum in moments of emotional dysregulation or overwhelm.
-
Be someone Mum can trust to stay present and not withdraw when things are tough.
-
Encourage healthy routines, rest, hydration, and self-kindness.
3. Driving & Outings:

Must be a confident driver with business insurance.
-
Drive to activities, doctor’s appointments, pharmacy, or shops.
-
Help manage transitions for Olli (car seat, bags, etc.).
4. Household Support (Light Touch):
-
Assist with Olli’s laundry if needed.
-
Help with errands like shopping for clothes/shoes.
-
Light cleaning related to Olli’s care (e.g. wiping high chair, tidying toys, cleaning up after meals).
-
General housework like washing up is appreciated.
-
No deep cleaning expected.
Occupational Requirement:
This role has an occupational requirement that the post holder be a follower of Jesus.
Important Notes

Be Present: Stay nearby and available unless asked to step away.

Check In Regularly: Even when things seem fine, check in gently with Mum.

Respect Boundaries: Maintain emotional and physical boundaries, communicate clearly.

Phone Use: Minimal phone use around Olli and Mum; be fully present.

Emotional Awareness: Be attuned, not intrusive; hold space when needed.

Teamwork Mindset: You are not “in charge” – you are joining this family’s rhythm.
