Remembering Pope Francis
Romans 12:15 “Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.”
As instructed by the bible, we ought to mourn with those who mourn. We would like to convey our deepest condolences to the bishop and entire Catholic Community of Bristol on the passing of Pope Francis.
As a global leader we learnt a lot from his inspirational down to earth posture and humility. He has a phenomenal heart for the less privileged and marginalised of society. In his global papal visits, he carried a unifying presence and was a voice for peace and multi-layered social justice.
Pope Francis often spoke about the power of love and forgiveness which are the virtues that Christ came to offer us as we have been remembering Him this past Easter weekend. What a way to finish one`s journey on earth with the last stop being Mass to bless and wish his local and global audience a happy Easter.
We pray that the Lord may comfort the Bristol, the national and the global Catholic Church. Although this may be the end of another era, we commit the dawn of the new era into God`s hands. May the legacy of Pope Francis live on.
