Why are we focussing on ONENESS at the Summit?
Roger Sutton shares more on the theme of the Summit |
|
|
“Oneness is about living in that tension between diversity and solidarity. We’re reflecting on that gospel image we find in Paul's teaching: The image of the body. It's a diverse thing that we're part of, hand, feet, eye, ear and so on, but it's joined together by solidarity. It's still one body.
In our day and age, we're big into diversity. To an extent where it creates difference and it creates division actually. We start saying “I'm not just unique, I'm not you either and I don't like you”, Whether that's national identities which create division or church, society, politics, in all sorts of different ways. You see it politically, in a communist state, which focuses on solidarity but can minimize uniqueness and diversity. Whereas the Western culture at the moment celebrates diversity without solidarity.
The Bible celebrates diversity and it joins us together. We are one body, one in Christ, but on the other hand, it also doesn't allow us to just be an amorphous blob. The solidarity we find through Jesus in the Body of Christ enables us to coexist in all our diversity and uniqueness.” |

Bring a team of leaders from your city, borough or town

The summit is most fruitful and impactful when teams participate together. So we really encourage you to prayerfully discern who could attend and come with a team of at least 4-5 people to really get the most out of the time at the Summit. |

“We are really looking forward to bringing a team of 10 leaders from Reading to the Summit in Oxford this year. Being together to hear together really helps us as we pray and believe together for our City to be transformed. Last year we gathered over 80 leaders from across our City for a day to worship and prayer, to |

connect and hear stories of what God is doing in our City and across the nation. Our God is on the move… We are full of faith as we dream again, believing that as we stand in unity together, we will see our City won for Jesus.”Andy Dickens, Transform Reading |

Lives Made Better in Lancashire Through Relationship and Love
The Lancashire Movement Summit 2026, held on 20th January at St Luke’s Church in Blackburn, marked a significant moment for the Movement for Recovery across the county. |
|
|
|
The summit brought together more than 80 leaders and practitioners from churches, mosques, charities, statutory services, and civic organisations representing Lancashire’s diverse urban, rural, and coastal communities. |
|
“The Movement for Recovery Summit provided a fantastic opportunity to network, explore and develop emergent links across a broad range of Statutory and VCFSE services and organisations, particularly incorporating the Faith sector through strengthening connections, building relationships and trust.”
– CHRIS TRUCKLE, Service Delivery Co-ordinator, Social Prescribing and Community Connecting, Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council |

Join us this Lent to receive a series of prayerful studies focusing on Jesus' encounters on the road. Our Walking Humbly reflections have been written with our lived experience partners, Christians who have had no other choice but to turn to a food bank to survive. With them, you will explore how we can create welcoming spaces where everyone can feel like they belong in our church communities. Sign up at www.trussell.org.uk/join

Our Vision is to see a unified Church working together across every city and town, to see social, cultural and spiritual transformation across the UK. We are grateful to God for how far the Movement has come but we still have a long way to go.
Could you, or your unity group, help us to deliver this vision by becoming a Gather Movement Supporter?
