A huge thank you to everyone who donated to our easter appeal to renew and refresh the Wild Goose drop-in centre!

Together, you raised an amazing £14,345 (inc. gift aid), which will enable us to transform the Wild Goose into a more warm, inspiring, and trauma-informed space for people who are experiencing the trauma of homelessness.

The first step of the transformation will be happening next week as the walls will be painted using calming shades of green.

How is the spring Life Course going?

11 people are half way through the spring Life Course and here's what a few of them had to say about the course so far.
“I have found it relaxed and each segment is well explained and slow enough to take in.”

“I have been enjoying the course so far. Everyone is getting involved and it's a nice atmosphere.

"I love how everyone talks. There’s no intimidating feeling."

Today, the group are on a social together, having a meal created by the Provisions team and then going bowling. These social times are really important in building safe relationships

Renters' Rights Act

You may have seen or read in the news about the Renters’ Rights Act, which comes into national law on Friday 1st May 2026. This Act will have a positive impact on a large proportion of the people who visit our services.

Headline changes for renters.

  • Section 21 ‘no fault’ evictions will be abolished.
  • All new and most existing tenancies in the private rented sector will become assured periodic tenancies or ‘rolling tenancies.’
  • Rent increases will be limited to once per year.
  • Rental bidding will be banned.
  • Requiring large amounts of rent in advance will be banned.
  • Discrimination against renters who have children or receive benefits will be illegal.
  • In the tenancy agreement you can request a pet and the landlord needs to provide valid reasons to refuse the request.

What you can do.

  • Keep up to date with the changes, especially for people who are privately renting their home.
  • Look out for anyone in your community / church who may be struggling with their landlord and help them to understand their rights.
  • Display a poster in your church or community group.
