Bristol Organisations Join National “A Million Acts of Hope” Campaign
to Celebrate Everyday Acts of Kindness and Community Spirit

pressrelease6Bristol, UK — May 2026 — Bristol Noise, Good Faith Partnership, Easton Jamia Masjid, Hillfields Community Garden and Refugee Women of Bristol are among over 40 organisations, faith and community groups joining the national campaign ‘A Million Acts of Hope’ from 13–20 May 2026, celebrating the everyday acts of kindness, care and community action that give people hope across Bristol and beyond.

The campaign is part of a growing national movement bringing together hundreds of charities, community organisations and faith groups from across the UK. With more than 200 partners involved, it is amplifying the countless acts of kindness and connection happening every day in neighbourhoods, towns and cities across the country — especially at a time when division and negativity can often dominate public conversation. It also includes more than 60,000 signatures on the Biggest Ever Thank You Card which is part of the campaign.

In Bristol, the campaign will spotlight the people and groups who quietly make a difference every day: volunteers at food banks, park litter pickers, campaigners protecting local libraries, children’s football coaches, organisers of community coffee mornings, residents campaigning for safer streets and neighbours supporting one another through difficult times.pressrelease3

These are the stories that too often go untold organisers said. “People are hungry for change. This campaign is about showing what becomes possible when communities come together to create change, support one another and build hope.”

Qerim Nuredini at Bristol Hospitality Network states: "BHN is a refugee charity supporting asylum seekers through accommodation, advice, and practical support. We provide safe places to stay in collaboration with a network of generous volunteer hosts across Bristol. As part of Million Acts of Hope Week, BHN will be hosting special events including a celebration of our welcome centre which sees around 200 people each week, and a free community event on the 20th where members of the public and our service users are warmly invited to watch a film together and take part in a discussion afterwards."

While traditions and beliefs may differ, communities are united by shared values of compassion, dignity, hope and togetherness. “In a time of uncertainty and division, changing the narrative with a friendly afternoon tea with neighbours offers one such moment of Hope” Rachel Haig CEO Avonmouth Community Centre”

Throughout 13–20 May, people across Bristol will be encouraged to share stories, organise local activities and celebrate the positive actions already happening around them.

By shining a light on everyday acts of hope, the campaign hopes to inspire more people to get involved and remind communities that meaningful change often starts locally — with ordinary people choosing to care for one another. “Even when things are tough, communities continue to show up for each other,” organisers added. “We never stop believing in hope — or in the people around us.”
