Noise 365 - May 2026 Update

It has been a busy few months since we last wrote to you. Bristol Noise is still working under the project name Noise 365 - all year around - not just one large event.

Our work has been shaped by the theme of Hope. Inspired by the idea of the national movement 13-20th May “A Million Acts of Hope”. We want to facilitate meaningful change across our communities in continuing to build Bristol as a City of Hope.

We have continued to receive a steady flow of project referrals and we are thrilled to have appointed Chris Richardson as 'Noise 365 Community Projects Co-ordinator' to ensure all projects are carried out in a safe and timely manner.

Alongside this, demand for our equipment hire and practical resources has been steady.  It’s encouraging to see our resources being used in ways that directly benefit local communities. We have a new page on our website ‘Acts of Hope’ which offers resources for anyone wanting to connect with their community.

May 13th - 20th 2026

After 24 years of hosting a citywide event, Bristol Noise charity last gathered communities across the city in May 2024. In 2025, we paused to reflect on the future.

While the large-scale event has taken a step back, our commitment hasn’t changed. We continue to support local families, churches, and community organisations across Bristol throughout the year. We’re partnering with the Good Faith Partnership (who oversee Bristol Warm Welcome Network) to take part in a nationwide movement: A Million Acts of Hope.

This week is all about recognising and celebrating the everyday acts of hope already happening across our city. For example: St Nicholas Church are handing out recipe bags to hostels and safe houses, Hillfields Community Centre are holding a gardening activity, Litter picking is happening with Resound Church, Field Church, Ebenezer  Church and, Woodlands Metro cleaning up local neighbourhoods. Woodlands Southside, Concorde Church, St Werburghs Community Centre, Bristol Hospitality Network and Bridges for Communities are celebrating their existing community events.
At a time when division can feel loud, this movement highlights a different story - people across the UK showing up for one another every single day.

Take part by:
  1. Sharing what you’re already doing #millionactsofhope
  2. Together continuing to build Bristol as a 'city of HOPE'
Let us know if you are able to take part or if you need any resources.

New Community Project Co-ordinator

We are thrilled to welcome Chris Richardson officially as our new recruit. Chris has carried out this role voluntarily for many years and you may recognise him from Noise events.

Chris will enable us to respond efficiently to the referrals which come in to help local families - from social workers, family hubs and local charities. He will ensure that all projects are assessed and work with volunteers to ensure everything is safely carried out.

Volunteers for projects

As we move into the better weather we anticipate there being more garden based projects coming and we will need volunteers to work alongside Chris to carry these out.

If you have a small group of people that would like to sign up to help please do get in touch to be added to our volunteer list.

No experience required, all tools provided!
