What does spirituality mean to children, and how can we support spiritual development in a school context?

This interactive session explores how children make sense of themselves, their relationships, their school community, the world around them, and their sense of the beyond, the divine or God. We’ll consider how spirituality can be expressed through wonder, creativity, play, nature, relationships, values and everyday school experiences.

The session will explore how church and school can work together to create safe, inclusive, spiritual spaces where children can ask questions, explore faith and beliefs, and develop their own sense of meaning, purpose and belonging. Practical ideas will help church and school partners support children’s spiritual development in age-appropriate ways.
